Travel Club – A New Media Business Idea

Travel Club is GoodReads for travelers. It is a place where the public can document their travel experiences like a virtual map on your wall with pins in it where you’ve been. A user can connect with their friends and see where they’ve been. If you’re heading somewhere new, Travel Club will tell you which friends have been there and will provide links to their travel log. Travel Club will contain curated user-generated content to highlight top restaurant lists, top hotel lists, and other useful advice provided by users. It will also contain original travel journalism created by experienced travel journalists who spot travel trends, highlight travel deals available and help find the off-the-beaten-path spots. It will compete with Fodor’s, TripAdvisor, LonelyPlanet, and Frommer’s because it’s not a company’s opinion or the opinion of the masses, but the opinions of friends that you trust or friends of friends.
